ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengkaji representasi LGBT dalam teks pemberitaan hukum cambuk dan rajam bagi LGBT di Brunei Darussalam oleh media Cnnindonesia.com. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana LGBT direpresentasikan oleh Cnnindonesia.com. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian yang diambil dari Cnnindonesia.com berjumlah lima berita. Data-data tersebut ditelaah menggunakan teori analisis wacana kritis model Teun A. van Dijk. Setelah dianalisis hasil menunjukkan bahwa pada struktur makro, secara garis besar media Cnnindonesia.com memilih tema atau topik oposisi dengan keputusan Brunei Darussalam. Hal ini didukung dengan pemberian pernyataan efek yang ditimbulkan dari hukuman tersebut yang terlihat pada subtema tiap berita. Pada superstruktur, secara garis besar berita yang dipublikasikan media Cnnindonesia.com memiliki alur yang didahului dengan gambaran umum dan situasi di bagian teras berita, lalu dilanjutkan dengan pemberian komentar atau tanggapan dari pihak yang sudah dipilih media atau wartawan, lalu diberi tambahan fakta-fakta di bagian akhir berita. Pada struktur mikro, unsur semantik berupa detail dipaparkan di setiap berita yang dipublikasikan, khususnya detail mengenai peraturan yang diberlakukan di Brunei. Unsur sintaksis berupa bentuk kalimat, yang mendominasi adalah bentuk kalimat aktif. Brunei digambarkan sebagai pihak yang aktif melakukan sesuatu. Pemilihan elemen leksikon pada unsur stilistika, seolah menunjukkan ketidak berdayaan LGBT dengan leksikon 'target persekusi' dan 'melarikan diri'. Lalu pemilihan leksikon 'lebih moderat' dan 'terus mendorong' untuk menyudutkan Brunei. Dengan demikian, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa Cnnindonesia.com merepresentasikan LGBT secara positif dengan merepresentasikan keputusan Brunei Darussalam secara negatif serta memosisikan LGBT sebagai korban. Media Cnnindonesia.com tampak menunjukkan keberpihakannya kepada kelompok LGBT yang dapat diartikan sebagai dukungan atas eksistensi LGBT. Kata kunci: AWK, van Dijk, Cnnindonesia.com, representasi LGBT ABSTRACT This research examines the representation of LGBT in the text of the reporting of the law of caning and stoning for LGBT people in Brunei Darussalam by the media Cnnindonesia.com. The purpose of this study is to describe how LGBT is represented by Cnnindonesia.com. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Research data taken from Cnnindonesia.com amounted to five news. These data were analyzed using Teun A. van Dijk's model of critical discourse analysis. After analyzing the results show that in the macrostructure, in general the Cnnindonesia.com media chose the theme or topic of opposition to the Brunei Darussalam decision. This is supported by the provision of a statement on the effects of the punishment which can be seen in the sub-themes of each news. In the superstructure, in general, the news published by the Cnnindonesia.com media has a flow that is preceded by an overview and situation in the news core, then continues with the provision of comments or responses from parties that have been selected by the media or journalists, then given additional facts in the end of the news. In the micro structure, the semantic element in the form of details is presented in every published news, especially details regarding the regulations that are enforced in Brunei. The syntactic element is in the form of a sentence, which dominates the active voice. Brunei is described as an active party. The selection of lexicon elements in the stylistic elements, seems to show the helplessness of LGBT with the lexicon "target persecution" and "run away". Then the lexicon selection is 'more moderate' and 'continues to encourage' to corner Brunei. Thus, it can be concluded that Cnnindonesia.com represents LGBT positively by representing Brunei Darussalam's decision negatively and positioning LGBT as victims. Media Cnnindonesia.com appears to show its siding with LGBT groups which can be interpreted as support for the existence of LGBT. Keyword: AWK, van Dijk, Cnnindonesia.com, LGBT representation
