Summary:ABSTRAK Kota Bandung selain dikenal dengan kulinernya/wisata kulinernya, juga memiliki bangunan bersejarah dan museum. Lebih kurang terdapat 9 museum, yaitu Museum Barli, Gedung Sate, Geologi, Konferensi Asia Afrika, Kota Bandung, Mandala Wangsit Siliwangi, Pendidikan Nasional, Pos Indonesia, dan Sri Baduga. Keberadaan museum sebagai salah satu wisata edukasi di Kota Bandung belum dapat menarik wisatawan dalam jumlah banyak karena minat wisatawan untuk wisata lainnya seperti wisata belanja, dll. Wisatawan yang mengunjungi museum di Kota Bandung jumlahnya tidak merata dan karakteristik wisatawannya pun berbeda-beda. Karakteristik wisatawan bermacam-macam, di antaranya karakteristik berdasarkan latar belakang pendidikan dan pekerjaan, berdasarkan tujuan kunjungan, dan berdasarkan pola kunjungan. Karakteristik wisatawan tersebut dapat dipetakan dengan memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi di bidang komputer, yaitu Sistem Informasi Geografis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan karakteristik wisatawan museum di Kota Bandung berdasarkan latar belakang pendidikan dan pekerjaan, tujuan kunjungan, dan pola kunjungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengolahan dan analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis persentase dan analisis spasial. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi literatur, studi dokumentasi, observasi, dan angket. Hasil analisis data dalam penelitian ini yaitu (1) berdasarkan latar belakang pendidikan, 62 responden berlatar belakang pendidikan sarjana, dan berdasarkan latar belakang pekerjaan, 18 dari 32 responden bekerja sebagai pegawai swasta (2) berdasarkan tujuan kunjungan, 67 responden bertujuan untuk rekreasi/liburan (3) berdasarkan pola kunjungan, 63 responden hanya mengunjungi 1 museum, sehingga membentuk pola single point. Kata Kunci: Karakteristik wisatawan, Museum, SIG ABSTRACT Bandung is known for its culinary tourism, Bandung also has historic buildings and museums. There are approximately 9 museums, the Barli Museum, Gedung Sate, Geology, Asian-African Conference, Bandung City, Mandala Wangsit Siliwangi, National Education, Pos Indonesia, and Sri Baduga. The existence of the museum as one of the educational tours in Bandung has not been able to attract tourists in large numbers because of the interest of tourists for other tours such as shopping, etc. Tourists who visiting museums in Bandung are uneven in number and have various characteristics. The characteristics of tourists vary, the first is based on the discussion of characteristics. the second is from educational background and occupation, and the last is based on the purpose and the pattern of visits. The characteristics of these tourists can be mapped by using technological advances in the field of computers, namely Geographic Information Systems. This study aimed was to map the characteristics of museum tourists in Bandung based on their educational and occupational backgrounds, the purpose of the visit, and the pattern of visits. This research used a descriptive method. The researcher used percentage analysis and spatial analysis techniques. Data collection was carried out with literature studies, documentation studies, observations, and questionnaires. The results of data analysis in this study were (1) based on educational background, 62 respondents had a bachelor education background, and based on occupational background, 18 out of 32 respondents worked as employees (2) based on the purpose of the visit, 67 respondents only for recreation / vacation (3) based on visit pattern, 63 respondents only visited 1 museum, therefore it is forming a single point pettern.
