Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh profil model mental siswa menggunakan tes diafnostik model mental pilihan ganda dua tingkat. pada submateri faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi laju reaksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 34 orang siswa di salah satu SMA Negeri di Bandung yang telah mempelajari materi Laju reaksi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan instrumen tes diagnostik model mental untuk mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan penelitian, model mental siswa tipe 10 dengan karakteristik tidak dapat memberikan alasan jawaban yang bersifat submikroskopik dan model mental siswa tipe 00 dengan karakteristik tidak dapat memahami tiga level pengetahuan representasi kimia mendominasi profil model mental submateri faktor konsentrasi terhadap laju reaksi dengan tiga fenomena berbeda. Model mental siswa tipe 10 dengan karakteristik tidak dapat memberikan alasan jawaban yang bersifat submikroskopik dan 11 dengan karakteristik dapat memahami tiga level pengetahuan representasi kimia mendominasi profil model mental submateri faktor suhu terhadap laju reaksi dengan dua fenomena berbeda. Model mental siswa tipe 00 dengan karakteristik tidak dapat memahami tiga level pengetahuan representasi kimia mendominasi profil model mental submateri faktor keadaan pereaksi terhadap laju reaksi dengan tiga fenomena berbeda. Model mental 10 dengan karakteristik tidak dapat memberikan alasan jawaban yang bersifat submikroskopik mendominasi profil model mental submateri faktor katalis terhadap laju reaksi dengan dua fenomena berbeda. Penyajian fenomena, materi yang diajarkan, dan miskonsepsi menjadi penyebab model mental siswa yang berbeda pada konsep yang sama. Kata kunci : model mental, tes diagnostik model mental pilihan ganda dua tingkat, faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi laju reaksi Abstract This study aims to obtained a mental model profile of students on the factors that affect the rate of reaction submaterial using a two-level multiple choice mental model diaphnostic test. The researched subjects were 34 students at a public high school in Bandung who had studied the reaction rate material. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using a mental model diagnostic test instrument to collect data. Based on the research, the mental model of type 10 students with characteristics cannot provide reasons for submicroscopic answers and the mental model of type 00 students with the characteristics of not being able to understand the three levels of knowledge of chemical representations dominates the profile of the sub-material mental model, the concentration factor on the reaction rate with three different phenomena. The mental model of type 10 students with characteristics cannot provide reasons for submicroscopic answers and 11 with characteristics of being able to understand three levels of knowledge of chemical representations dominating the profile of the temperature factor submaterial mental model to the rate of reaction with two different phenomena. The mental model of type 00 students with the characteristic of not being able to understand the three levels of knowledge of chemical representations dominates the profile of the mental model of the reagent state factor submaterial to the rate of reaction with three different phenomena. Mental model 10 with the characteristics cannot provide reasons for submicroscopic answers to dominate the profile of the catalytic factor submaterial mental model towards the rate of reaction with two different phenomena. Presentation of phenomena, material taught, and misconceptions are the cause of different mental models of students on the same concept.
