Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menulis puisi. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan yang dialami siswa kelas VB SDN Kaliabang Tengah VIII Kota Bekasi dalam menulis puisi yang ditinjau dari struktur puisi yaitu tema, diksi, rima, imajinasi dan tipografi. Hal ini dikarnakan masih banyak siswa yang tidak dapat menulis puisi dengan memeperhatikan unsur-unsur yang ada pada puisi dengan baik sehingga mengalami kesulitan, serta langkah-langkah pengajaran yang dilakukan guru juga kurang tepat dalam mengantisipasi kesulitan yang dialami siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah dokumen puisi hasil karya siswa kelas VB SDN Kaliabang Tengah VIII Bekasi. Teknik pengumpulan datanya yaitu memberikan tes dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan kesulitan-kesulitan siswa dalam menulis puisi. Adapun kesulitan-kesulitan tersebut diantaranya ialah kesulitan dalam menentukkan judul puisi sesuai dengan tema, menentukkan isi puisi sesuai dengan tema, menentukkan pemilihan diksi/kata yang baik, tepat dan efektif, kesulitan dalam menempatkan rima pada puisi dan pengulangannya, kesulitan untuk menggambarkan suatu objek yang dapat dilihat, didengar dan dirasakan pada puisi, kesulitan dalam keteraturan pola tipografi pada puisi dan kerapihan dalam menyusun baris-baris atau bait-bait pada puisi. Kesulitan yang tergolong paling kuat adalah kesulitan pada unsur diksi, rima dan imajinasi, serta yang paling lemah adalah pada unsur tipografi dan tema. ----- This research is motivated by the problem of the low ability of students in writing poetry. The purpose of this study is to describe the difficulties experienced by students of class VB SDN Kaliabang Tengah VIII Bekasi City in writing poetry in terms of poetry structure, namely themes, diction, rhyme, imagination and typography. This is because there are still many students who cannot write poetry by paying attention to the elements in the poetry properly so that they experience difficulties, and the teaching steps taken by the teacher are also inaccurate in anticipating the difficulties experienced by students. This study uses a qualitative approach with content analysis methods. The subject of this research is a poetry document written by the VB grade students of SDN Kaliabang Tengah VIII Bekasi. Data collection techniques, namely providing tests and documentation. Based on the research results, it was found that students' difficulties in writing poetry were found. These difficulties include the difficulty in determining the title of the poem according to the theme, determining the content of the poem according to the theme, determining the selection of good, precise and effective diction/word, difficulty in placing rhymes in poetry and its repetition, difficulty in describing an object that is can be seen, heard and felt in poetry, difficulties in the regularity of typographic patterns in poetry and neatness in arranging lines or verses in poetry. The difficulties that are classified as the strongest are difficulties in the elements of diction, rhyme and imagination, and the weakest are the elements of typography and themes.
