520 |a ABSTRAK Penelitian ini didasarkan karena peran guru IPS sangatlah penting dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar, dapat dijadikan acuan dalam mencari solusi permasalahan pembelajaran, dan guru dapat memberikan cara pembelajaran yang berpariatif berupa strategi, metode/model pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui: proses pembelajaran IPS dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar kelas VII-J SMPN 29 Bandung, upaya yang dilakukan oleh guru IPS dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas VII-J SMPN 29 Bandung, hambatan yang dihadapi guru IPS dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas VII-J SMPN 29 Bandung. Metode yang digunakan peneliti yaitu kualitatif deskripstif di SMP Negeri 29 Bandung. Subjek penelitiannya yaitu guru IPS, Siswa kelas VII-J dan wakasek Kurikulum. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara secara online, observasi awal, dan studi dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dilihat dari proses pembelajarannya, secara keseluruhan guru sudah mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa karena dengan menggunakan model/metode berbeda-beda setiap pertemuannya seperti: make a match, membuat poster, mind mapping dan quizizz. Upaya yang dilakukan oleh guru IPS yaitu melalui reinforcement positif (pujian, hadiah, tepuk tangan) dan negatif (hukuman). Hambatan yang dihadapi guru karena faktor intern yaitu siswa kurang fokus dalam menerima materi pelajaran, siswa malas belajar karena lebih senang bermain game online dan ekstern yaitu sarana dan prasarana di kelas belum lengkap. Kata kunci: Motivasi belajar siswa, Peran Guru IPS ABSTRACT This research is conducted with a basis on the important role of social studies teachers in increasing learning motivation, their role can be used as a reference in finding solutions to learning problems, moreover teachers can provide alternative learning methods in the form of strategies, methods/learning models. The purpose of this study is to find out: students of social studies learning process in increasing the learning motivation of class VII-J SMPN 29 Bandung, several efforts made by social studies teachers in increasing the learning motivation of class VII-J students of SMPN 29 Bandung, obstacles faced by social studies teachers in increasing student learning motivation VII-J class SMPN 29 Bandung. The method used by researchers is descriptive qualitative method. The research is conducted in SMP Negeri 29 Bandung. The research subjects taken are social studies teachers, class VII-J students and vice-principal of curriculum. Data collection techniques are compiled through online interviews, preliminary observation, and documentation study. Based on the research results, seen from the learning process, in general, teachers have been able to increase students' learning motivation by using different models/methods for each class-meeting such as: make a match, create posters, mind mapping and quiz. The attempts made by social studies teachers are through positive reinforcement (praise, gifts, applause) and negative (punishment). The obstacles faced by the teacher are due to internal factors, that is to mention, students are less focused in receiving subject matter, students are lazy to learn because they prefer to play online games and external factors, namely the facilities and infrastructure in the classroom are not yet complete.
