Hasil studi pendahuluan memperlihatkan bahwa kemampuan interpretasi grafik siswa SMP masih rendah. Padahal menurut Depdiknas tujuan pembelajaran harus mengembangkan keterampilan proses sains salah satunya yaitu kemampuan interpretasi grafik. Selain itu hasil belajar aspek kognitif siswa yang tergolong rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang peningkatan hasil belajar aspek kognitif siswa dan kemampuan interpretasi grafik sebagai inpak penerapan model pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe STAD (Student Team Achievement Division). Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Pre Experimental Design sedangkan desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas VII pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Bandung. Pengambilan data untuk mengukur peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes dalam bentuk pilihan ganda. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada 35 orang siswa menunjukkan adanya peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa dengan rata-rata gain yang dinormalisasi <g> sebesar 0,57 dan termasuk dalam kategori sedang serta peningkatan kemampuan interpretasi grafik siswa dengan rata-rata gain yang dinormalisasi <g> sebesar 0,60 dan termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Kata kunci: Kooperatif tipe STAD (Student Team Achievement Division), hasil belajar Aspek Kognitif, Kemampuan Interpretasi Grafik Abstract The result of previous research shows that interpretation of graph skills of junior high school students are still low. Whereas Depdiknas states that the one of the aims of learning is to develop science process skill that includes interpretation of graph skill. Besides the cognitive learning outcomes are considered low. This research aims to get description of students' cognitive aspect development and graph interpretation of graph as the impact of the implementation of STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) cooperative learning model. The research using Pre Experimental research method and One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This research was conducted in seventh grade of one of Bandung public junior high school. The data were collected using multiple choices test to measure the development of students' achievement. The result shows from the test, that was conducted to 35 students, shows there was rise in students' achievement with the normalized gain average <g> 0.57 and was included in moderate category, meanwhile the normalized gain average point <g> for interpretation of graph skill is 0.60 and was categorized in moderate category.
