Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Terstruktur Siswa SMP pada Materi Pola Bilangan. Penelitian ini di latarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Maka dari itu kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis merupakan kompetensi yang harus dimiliki oleh seluruh siswa dalam belajar matermatika, baik di tingkat SD, SMP, maupun SMA. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal, peneliti memperoleh informasi mengenai adanya kesulitan yang dialami oleh siswa saat menyelesaikan soal-soal pola bilangan yang berbasis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP pada materi pola bilangan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus, penelitian dilakukan dengan mengujikan soal tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis pada materi pola bilangan pada siswa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 20 orang siswa kelas VIII dari salah satu SMP di kota Bandung. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa empat butir soal kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi pola bilangan disertai wawancara guna mengetahui kesulitan siwa dalam mencapai setiap indikator pemecahan masalah matematis. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP berada di tingkat sangat baik pada indikator memahami masalah, di tingkat baik pada indikator merencanakan pemecahan masalah, di tingkat cukup pada indikator menyelesaikan masalah, dan di tingkat cukup pada indikator memeriksa kembali hasil yang diperoleh. This study is background by the importance of mathematical problem solving among students. In consequence, the ability of mathematical problem solving is the ability that must be possessed by all students in learning mathematics, both elementary, middle, and high school students. According to the early observation, the researcher got the information about the difficulties experienced by the students while finishing questions about number pattern which based on mathematical problem solving. Therefore, this study aims to describe the ability of mathematical problems solving of junior high school students on the number pattern. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method, with a case study design and was conducted by testing the mathematical problem solving ability test on number pattern to student. The subject of this study were 20 students of VIII grade from junior high school in Bandung. The instrument used was in the form of 4 questions regarding mathematical problem solving abilities for the students on number pattern and followed by interviewing students to acknowledge the difficulties experienced by the students in achieving each indication of mathematical problems. The result of this study indicates that mathematical problem solving abilities of junior high school student is on the very good level especially in understanding the problem. In planning problem solving planning, it is on the good level. In solving the problem, it is on the fair level. In re-checking the result obtained, it is on the fair level.
