Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dan untuk mengetahui aktivitas siswa setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT pada mata pelajaran Sistem Refrigerasi kelas X TP B SMK Negeri I Cimahi Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014. Metode penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian terdiri atas tiga siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah soal pre-test, post test dan lembar observasi aktivitas belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar yang ditunjukan oleh nilai rata-rata N-Gain pada siklus I yang masuk dalam kategori sedang, siklus II kategori sedang, dan siklus III kategori tinggi. Penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT juga menyebabkan aktivitas belajar siswa meningkat untuk pada siklusnya. Hasil rata-rata persentase aktivitas pada siklus I masuk dalam kategori sedang, meningkat pada siklus II kategori tinggi, dan siklus III kategori tinggi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah: penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Sistem Refrigerasi. Kata kunci : numbered head together, hasil belajar, aktivitas belajar This research was conducted to investigate the improvement of student learning outcomes through the implementation of cooperative learning type NHT and to examine student activities after the teacher conducted cooperative learning type NHT in Refrigeration System subject of class X TP B SMK Negeri 1 Cimahi 2013/2014. The research method employed in this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is consisting of three cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The data were collected through pre-test, post-test and observation sheets covering student learning activities. The findings of this research reveal that there was an improvement in student learning outcomes indicated by the average score of N-Gain which is average on the first dan second cycle, then high in last cycles. The implementation of cooperative learning type NHT also lead to increase student learning activities for each cycle. The result showed that the average percentage of activity in the first cycle can be categorized as an average category, and then it increases in the second and third cycle which can be categorized as a high category. The Conclusion of this research is: the implementation of cooperative learning type NHT can improve student learning outcomes and student learning activities in Refrigeration Systems subject.
