Penelitian terhadap sebelas orang partisipan yang berprofesi sebagai guru Program Keahlian Ganda Teknik Geomatika yang tersebar pada berbagai provinsi di seluruh Indonesia ini telah memberikan gambaran yang mendalam tentang proses beradaptasi yang mereka alami pada kompetensi keahliannya yang baru. Penulis melakukan wawancara dengan video call melalui aplikasi di media sosial dengan memberikan beberapa pertanyaan kepada partisipan dan juga meminta partisipan bercerita tentang proses beradaptasi yang dialaminya agar hasil yang didapatkan dari wawancara ini lebih mendalam. Penulis mengolah data hasil penelitian dengan cara mentranskripsikan dokumen, memadatkan fakta kemudian membuat kode sehingga mendapatkan kesimpulan akhir berupa tema-tema tertentu yang dapat dikelompokkan. Dari penelitian ini penulis berhasil mendeskripsikan kendala utama yang dialami oleh guru dalam beradaptasi dan bagaimana cara mereka mengatasi kendala tersebut dengan cara mereka masing-masing. Penelitian ini menunjukkan jika beberapa kendala guru program keahlian ganda teknik geomatika dalam beradaptasi pada kompetensi keahlian ini adalah memahami materi pelajaran baru pada kompetensi keahlian teknik geomatika yaitu Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) dan Penginderaan Jauh (PJ)yang berhubungan erat dengan pembelajaran yang menggunakan software tertentu, sarana dan prasarana yang tidak memadai seperti peralatan praktek untuk kegiatan belajar mengajar, kurangnya dukungan guru senior di sekolah. Para partisipan berusaha mengatasi kendala yang mereka alami dengan realitas yang membuat shock karena menghindarkan diri dari mengajar pada mata pelajaran yang sulit (mata pelajaran pada Kelas XI dan Kelas XII) atau berusaha menimba ilmu dengan guru senior yang ada di sekolah, walaupun tidak semua guru senior bisa memberi dukungan karena keterbatasan memahami materi baru tersebut. Kata Kunci : Keahlian Ganda, Teknik Geomatika, Adaptasi guru Research on eleven participants who work as teachers of the Geomatics Engineering Dual Expertise Program spread across various provinces throughout Indonesia has provided an in-depth description of the adaptation process they experienced to their new competency skills. The author conducts interviews with video calls through applications on social media by giving several questions to participants and also asking participants to tell about the adaptation process they have experienced so that the results obtained from this interview are more in-depth. The author processes the research data by transcribing the document, compressing the facts, then coding so that the conclusion is in the form of certain themes that can be grouped. From this research, the authors have succeeded in describing the main obstacles experienced by teachers in adapting and how they can overcome these obstacles in their way. This research shows that some of the obstacles for the geomatics engineering dual expertise program teacher in adapting to this skill competency are understanding new subject matter in the competency of geomatics engineering expertise, namely Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) which are closely related to learning using software certainly. Inadequate facilities and infrastructure such as practical equipment for teaching and learning activities, lack of support from senior teachers in schools. The participants tried to overcome the obstacles they experienced with the shocking reality because they avoided teaching difficult subjects (subjects in Grade XI and XII) or tried to gain knowledge with senior teachers in school, even though not all senior teachers can provide support due to limited understanding of new material.
