Summary:This study replicates the results of the background of the low value of IPA on the subject of the properties of light, it marked the KKM is still at 58, whereas the expected target of 63, as well as learning how to implement the teacher is still using only conventional methods tend to be monotonous lecture. Based on these problems, the research objectives to be achieved are: (1) reveals the application of experimental methods to improve student learning outcomes and (2) reveal an increase in student learning outcomes after applying the experimental method of teaching science subjects Properties of Light. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which adapt the model of Kemmis & Mc. Taggart with three cycles. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes. I cycle on the average student to achieve as much as 69.6 or 66.7% of students who reach the KKM. In the second cycle has increased by an average value reached as much as 79.5 or 87.5% of students who reach the KKM. In the third cycle has increased again, reaching 81.04 or as much as 100% of students achieving the KKM. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya nilai hasil ulangan IPA pada pokok bahasan sifat-sifat cahaya, hal ini ditandai nilai KKM masih mencapai 58, padahal target yang diharapkan 63, demikian pula cara guru melaksanakan pembelajaran masih bersifat konvensional yaitu hanya menggunakan metode ceramah yang cenderung monoton. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka tujuan penelitian yang hendak dicapai adalah: (1) mengungkap penerapan metode eksperimen untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dan (2) mengungkap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa setelah menerapkan metode eksperimen dalam pembelajaran IPA pokok bahasan Sifat-sifat Cahaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengadaptasi model Kemmis & Mc. Taggart dengan tiga siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Pada siklus I nilai rata-rata siswa mencapai 69,6 atau sebanyak 66,7% siswa yang mencapai KKM. Pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan dengan nilai rata-rata mencapai 79,5 atau sebanyak 87,5% siswa yang mencapai nilai KKM. Pada siklus III mengalami peningkatan kembali yaitu mencapai 81,04 atau sebanyak 100% siswa mencapai nilai KKM.
