ABSTRAK Skripsi ini berjudul "Perkembangan Industri Gerabah Dan Dampaknya Terhadap Kehidupan Sosial Ekonomi Masyarakat Desa Bumijaya Kecamatan Ciruas Kabupaten Serang Tahun 1990-2018". Masalah pokok yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana perubahan kehidupan sosial ekonomi masyarakat Desa Bumi Jaya yang berprofesi sebagai pembuat gerabah kemudian banyak beralih menjadi karyawan swasta atau pekerjaan lain yang lebih dijanjikan selain keuntungan atau ekonomi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji lebih dalam mengenai perkembangan Industri Gerabah Desa Bumi Jaya Kecamatan Ciruas Kabupaten Serang serta dampak perkembangannya terhadap kehidupan sosial ekonomi masyarakat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode historis yang terdiri dari heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi dan historiografi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat dijelaskan bahwa perkembangan industri gerabah mengalami perubahan dari tahun 1990-2000 merupakan masa kejayaan industri gerabah dan tahun 2001-2018 mengalami penurunan. Industri gerabah juga berperan sebagai kearifan lokal masyarakat Desa Bumi Jaya dan sebagai mata pencaharian utama masyarakat sehingga Desa Bumi Jaya direncanakan menjadi Desa Wisata Edukasi oleh pemerintah Kabupaten Serang. Pemerintah Kabupaten Serang juga berperan dalam industri gerabah di Desa Bumi Jaya dengan memberikan pendampingan dan sosialisasi manajemen pemasaran agar industri gerabah tetap terjaga kelestariannya. ABSTRACT This research paper is entitled "Development of the Pottery Industry and Its Impact on the Socio-Economic Life of the Bumijaya Village Community, Ciruas District, Serang Regency, 1990-2018". The main problem studied is how the socio-economic life of the people of Bumi Jaya Village who work as pottery craftsmen then turn to private employees or other more promising jobs. The purpose of this study is to examine more deeply the development of the Pottery Industry in Bumi Jaya Village, Ciruas District, Serang Regency and the impact of its development on the socio-economic life of the community. The research method used in this research is the historical method which consists of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. Based on the results of this study that the development of the pottery industry experienced changes from 1990-2000 which was the heyday of the pottery industry and from 2001-2018 it experienced a decline. The pottery industry also plays a role as local wisdom for the people of Bumi Jaya Village and as the main livelihood of the community so that Bumi Jaya Village is planned to be an Educational Tourism Village by the Serang Regency government. The Serang Regency Government also plays a role in preserving the pottery industry in Bumi Jaya Village by providing assistance and socialization of marketing management to residents so that the pottery industry is maintained.
