Summary:Membaca pemahaman adalah salah satu kemampuan yang sangat diperlukan oleh siswa. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca memahami bacaan dan rendahnya hasil belajar siswa kelas III. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui dan menelaah kemampuan membaca pemahaman, faktor penyebab kesulitan membaca pemahaman, dan solusi yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi kesulitan membaca pemahaman pada siswa kelas III SD Negeri 3 Nagri Kaler Purwakarta. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 6 orang siswa kelas III SD. Data diperoleh dari observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa kelas III SD Negeri 3 Nagri Kaler memiliki kemampuan yang cukup dalam kemampuan pemahaman literal dan tergolong kurang dalam kemampuan pemahaman interpretatif, kemampuan pemahaman kritis, dan kemampuan pemahaman kreatif. Faktor penyebab kesulitan membaca pemahaman pada siswa kelas III SD Negeri 3 Nagri Kaler yaitu berasal dari dalam diri siswa (kurangnya minat dan aktivitas dalam kegiatan membaca, dan perbedaaan kemampuan yang dimiliki siswa), dan juga berasal dari luar diri siswa (sarana dan prasarana yang dimilki siswa dan lingkungan sekolah dan keluarga). Solusi yang dapat diterapakan yaitu membiasakan siswa untuk membaca buku, memberikan sarana dan prasarana, dan guru dapat menerapkan model, strategi, dan metode pembelajaran yang tepat bagi siswa. This research is motivated by the low reading comprehension ability and the low learning outcomes of third grade students. The purpose of this study is to determine and examine reading comprehension skills, factors causing reading comprehension difficulties, and solutions that can be applied to overcome reading comprehension difficulties in third grade students of SD Negeri 3 Nagri Kaler Purwakarta. The approach in this study is qualitative with the research subjects as many as 6 third grade elementary school students. Data obtained from observations, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results showed that the third grade students of SD Negeri 3 Nagri Kaler had sufficient ability in literal comprehension skills and were classified as lacking in interpretive understanding abilities. critical understanding ability, and creative understanding ability.
