Summary

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatkan penggunaan Youtube sebagai media informasi dan hiburan serta adanya channel-channel Youtube yang edukatif. Aksesibilitas siswa MTs Ar-Rohmah dalam memperoleh informasi dan hiburan melalui Youtube juga menjadi faktor pendukung dari penelitian ini. Selain itu, hadirnya channel Youtube 'Kok Bisa' sebagai salah satu channel Youtube edukatif yang memiliki keunikan juga menjadi hal yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif channel Youtube 'Kok Bisa' ini dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi siswa di MTs Ar-Rohmah dengan mengacu pada teori Uses and Gratification dan teori Kebutuhan Informasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu purposive sampling dengan dengan kriteria pernah dan aktif mengakses channel Youtube 'Kok Bisa'. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian kuesioner. Hasil yang diperoleh melalui penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas channel Youtube 'Kok Bisa' dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi siswa di MTs Ar-Rohmah berada pada kategori Baik, baik pada aspek kebutuhan kognitif, kebutuhan afektif, kebutuhan integrasi personal ataupun kebutuhan integrasi sosial dapat terpenuhi dengan baik. The Effectiveness of the 'Kok Bisa' Youtube Channel as a Media of Communication and Information on Fulfilling Student Information Needs (Descriptive Quantitative Study on MTs Ar-Rohmah Students). Thesis Department of Education Curriculum and Technology, Library and Information Science Study Program, Faculty of Education, Indonesian University of Education (2021). This research is motivated by increasing the use of Youtube as a medium of information and entertainment and the existence of educational Youtube channels. The accessibility of MTs Ar-Rohmah students in obtaining information and entertainment through Youtube is also a supporting factor of this research. In addition, the presence of the 'Kok Bisa' Youtube channel as one of the unique educational Youtube channels is also the background of this research. The purpose of this study is to find out how effective the Youtube channel 'Kok Bisa' is in meeting the information needs of students at MTs Ar-Rohmah by referring to the Uses and Gratification theory and the Information Needs theory. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with the criteria of having and actively accessing the 'Kok Bisa' Youtube channel. Data was collected using a questionnaire research instrument. The results obtained through this study indicate that the effectiveness of the Youtube channel 'Kok Bisa' in meeting the information needs of students at MTs Ar-Rohmah is in a Good category, both in terms of cognitive needs, affective needs, personal integration needs or social integration needs can be met properly.
