520 |a This research is motivated by the phenomenon of santri who experience pressure and stress due to busy activities and routines in boarding schools. This situation affects the hardiness of students. There is a relationship between student resilience and negative self-concept, which comes from parenting and self-experience. Research aims to obtain a model of reality counseling to develop santri hardiness. Reality counseling is formulated to develop santri hardiness that can be used as a solution in minimizing santri problems. Effectiveness testing using a research and development approach. The population and sample of the study was pondok Pesantren Daarul Rahman Ciganjur South Jakarta. Data is collected using a scoring scale. Data analysis uses descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that: (1) the personal profile of the hardiness of class VIII santri in Daarul Rahman Ciganjur boarding school in South Jakarta has a moderate tendency, (2) Reality counseling is carried out in six sessions, namely, (a) optimizing activities in Islamic boarding schools; (b) development of learning awareness; (c) increased persistence in routine at the lodge; (d) increasing persistence in achieving the goals of Islamic Boarding Schools; (e) controlling thoughts, feelings, and positive actions in viewing problems and in interacting with fellow friends; (f) and self-direction and an optimistic attitude in achieving goals., (3) reality counseling is effective in developing commitment, but not yet effective in developing aspects of control and challenges.
