Summary:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab permasalahan apakah penerapan pendekatan SAVI (Somatis, Auditori, Visual, Intelektual) dalam model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada aspek elementary clarification, basic support, inference, advanced clarification, dan strategy and tactics pada mata Pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS)? Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah jenis tes uraian. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes berupa uraian tertulis. Kemudian berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis penelitian umum melalui uji independent sample t-test, secara umum dapat disimpulkan terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara yang menggunakan pendekatan SAVI dalam model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional yang biasa dilakukan oleh guru. Tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan SAVI dalam model pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih tinggi. Dapat disimpulkan, pendekatan SAVI dalam model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa secara signifikan dalam pembelajaran IPS pada kelas VIII di SMPN 9 Bandung. Application of SAVI Approach (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) in Problem-Based Learning Models to Improve Critical Thinking Ability of Eighth Grade Students in Social Sciences Subjects at SMPN 9 Bandung (Quasi-Experimental of Class VIII Students at SMPN 9 Bandung). This study aims to find out the issue of whether the application of the SAVI approach (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) in problem-based learning models can improve students' critical thinking skills in aspects of elementary clarification, basic support, inference, advanced clarification, and strategy and tactics in subjects Social Sciences (IPS) ?. The research approach uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The instrument used was a type of description test. The sampling technique is done by purposive sampling. The technique of collecting data using test in the form of written description. Then based on the result of the hypothesis test of general research through independent sample test t-test. Generally, it can be concluded that there is a significant increase in students' critical thinking skills between those using the SAVI approach in problem-based learning models and those using conventional learning models commonly performed by teachers. The level of critical thinking skills of students who use the SAVI approach in problem-based learning models is higher. Thus it can be concluded that the SAVI approach in problem-based learning models can significantly improve students' critical thinking skills in learning Social Sciences in eighth-grade students at SMPN 9 Bandung.
