Usaha dan energi merupakan materi dalam pelajaran fisika yang seringkali terjadi miskonsepsi pada siswa SMA. Untuk mengetahui konsep apa saja yang mengalami miskonsepsi oleh siswa, perlu diadakan identifikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi dan penyebabnya pada materi usaha dan energi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif-kuantitatif dengan sampel sejumlah 104 siswa dari dua Sekolah Menengah Atas di Kota Bandung. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah instrumen Five-Tier Work and Energy (5TWE) yang terdiri dari 10 butir soal pilihan ganda lima tingkat. Hasil dari uji kelayakan instrumen Five-Tier Work and Energy (5TWE) menunjukkan bahwa setiap butir soal di dalamnya layak digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi pada materi usaha dan energi. Hasil identifikasi diolah menggunakan CDQ (Confidence Discrimination Quotient). Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi adanya 14 konsep yang miskonsepsi. Miskonsepsi tertinggi pada konsep perubahan energi kinetik dengan persentase partisipan 57% dan sumber penyebab miskonsepsi adalah pemikiran pribadi siswa dan internet. Work and energy are theories in Physics which tend to make misconceptions on high school students. Identification is required to find out what concepts that the students potentially have misconceptions about. This study aimed to identify the misconceptions and their causes in the work and energy theories. The method used was a descriptive-quantitative method with a total sample of 104 students from two high schools in Bandung. The study chose Five-Tier Work and Energy (5TWE) as an instrument which was consisted of 10 items of five-tier multiple selection. The results of Five-Tier Work and Energy instrument feasibility test indicated that each item was appropriate to be used for identifying the misconceptions in work and energy theories. After that, the output of identification was processed by applying CDQ (Confidence Discrimination Quotient). The results of study identified there were 14 misconceptions found. The highest misconception was the concept of change in kinetic energy with a percentage of participants 57% and the sources of misconception were students' personal thoughts and Internet.
