Description
Summary:Poetry writing skills are still seen by students as a challenge. When learning to write poetry takes place, it is possible that there will be various problems that occur. This is supported by the discovery of various problems of poetry writing skills such as the difficulties experienced by students when they compose a poem of their own. By providing learning adjustments to students, teachers can help children write poetry more easily. The application of picture media is expected to help students express their ideas to write poetry. The research aimed to identify how image media affect students' poetry writing skills, find out how students respond to the presentation of image media when they learn to make poetry and compare the effect of applying image media with conventional learning media on students' poetry writing skills. The approach used is quantitative with quasi-experimental research methods. The population used in this study is the fourth grade students of SD Negeri 01 Sukahati, Bandung Regency. The research sample is class IV B which serves as the control class, with class IV A as the experimental class. Questionnaires and pretest-posttest results were used as research instruments. The research findings show that teaching with picture media has been able to have a positive effect on students' poetry writing skills, the application of picture media is proven to be superior to conventional learning media, and students respond to its use well.
