Summary:Backround: Anxiety in facing the competency test is a situation that makes D-III Nursing students feel anxious, worried, tense, afraid, and feel uneasy when facing a competency test where this is the first time that prospective graduates will carry out nursing. Purpose: This study aims to describe the level of anxiety of final year students of the D-III Nursing study program in facing the competency test. Methods: This study uses a quantitative method descriptive design with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted at the Indonesian Education University Campus in Sumedang. The sample in this study amounted to 140 respondents who were selected using the total sampling method or census. Data were collected using the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (ZSAS) instrument. Data analysis was univariate and used a frequency distribution in the form of a percentage. Results: The results showed that many as 75.7% of students experienced mild anxiety, 19.3% of students experienced moderate anxiety, and 5.0% of students experienced severe anxiety. And followed by anxiety symptoms as much as 8.6% based on affective responses, followed by 7.9% cognitive responses, 21.4% based on physiological responses, and 39.3% based on behavioral responses. Conclusion: The level of anxiety of nursing students in facing competency tests is very diverse, but in general students experience mild anxiety.
