Summary:Penelitian yang berjudul "Pengembangan Bahan Ajar Matematika untuk Siswa SMPLB-B Tunarungu berdasarkan Karakteristik Siswa" merupakan sebuah penelitian yang dilatar belakangi oleh perlunya bahan ajar bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK) yang mengakomodasi karakteristik ABK tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui karakteristik bahan ajar matematika yang dikembangkan untuk siswa SMPLB-B tunarungu berdasarkan karakteristik siswa; (2) mengetahui keefektifan bahan ajar matematika yang dikembangkan untuk siswa SMPLB-B tunarunggu berdasarkan karakteristik siswa. Hal ini dilakukan untuk dapat mengoptimalkan proses pembelajaran bagi ABK tunarungu pada materi matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (Penelitian dan Pengembangan). Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa SMPLB dengan ketunaan tipe-B (tunarungu) kelas VII pada semester genap tahun akademik 2015/2016 di Kota Bandung. Secara umum, penelitian ini dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap yang meliputi identifikasi bahan ajar melalui studi pendahuluan; pengembangan bahan ajar yang telah didesain sesuai dengan temuan pada tahap studi pendahuluan; poses validasi bahan ajar oleh para ahli; implementasi bahan ajar pada subjek yang telah ditentukan; dan pengumpulan data sebagai penentu keefektifan bahan ajar hasil pengembangan. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa: pengembangan bahan ajar matematika untuk siswa SMPLB-B tunarungu berdasarkan karakteristik siswa perlu memperhatikan beberapa hal, antara lain: (1) kesesuaian dengan standar isi; (2) kesesuaian dengan buku utama; (3) penyajian dalam bahasa yang sederhana; dan (4) didasarkan atas karakteristik siswa tunarungu. Hasil akhir dari pengembangan ini berupa bahan ajar yang mempunyai desain sebagai berikut: (1) Halaman Judul; (2) Kata Pengantar; (3) Kompetensi Inti dan Kompetensi Dasar; (4) Petunjuk Belajar; (5) Daftar Isi; (6) Ringkasan Materi; (7) Kegiatan Belajar; dan (8) Rubrik Penilaian. Selain itu, berdasarkan uji keefektifan yang dilakukan, bahan ajar yang dikembangkan memiliki tingkat keefektifan sedang untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran. ---- This research, with the title of "Developing Characteristic-based Mathematics Learning Materials for Deaf or Hard Hearing Students in Junior High School" to meet the need of learning materials for children with special needs (CSN) based on the characteristics of CSN. This research aims to: (1) find out the characteristics of mathematics learning materials which were developed for deaf or hard hearing (DHH) students in Junior High School based on students' characteristics; (2) evaluate the effectiveness of mathematics learning materials developed for DHH students in Junior High School based on students' characteristics. This study was performed to optimize the learning process for the DHH in mathematics. The method of study is Research and Development (R&D). The subjects of this research were students of Junior High School Grades VII with type-B of disabilities (DHH) in the second semester of the academic year 2015/2016 in Bandung city. In general, the research was conducted in several steps which included the identificating of learning materials through a preliminary research; developing the learning materials that have been designed according to the results of the preliminary research; validating process of learning materials by experts; implementing of learning materials on the subject that has been determined; and collecting data as a determinant of the effectiveness of learning materials development results. This research found that: the developing of mathematics learning material for Deaf or Hard Hearing Students in Junior High School based on Students' Characteristics have to consider several aspect, such as: (1) the appropriateness with the core standard; (2) corresponding to the source book; (3) delivery of learing material in simple language; and (4) bridging and accomodating the characteristics of DHH students. The final product of learning material has a design as follows: (1) The title page; (2) Foreword; (3) Core Competence and Basic Competence; (4) Learning Instructions; (5) Table of Contents; (6) Material Summary; (7) Learning Activities; and (8) Assessment Rubric. In addition, the analysis of effectiveness of learning materials indicates that the effectiveness is in medium level which can be applied in learning activities.
