Summary

Pembelajaran dikatakan efektif jika siswa menguasai dan paham pada konsep dari materi yang telah didapat. Latar belakang dari penelitian ini yakni disebabkan masih rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SD. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu: 1) Mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mendapat penerapan metode mathmagic. 2) Mengetahui pengaruh metode mathmagic pada kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu quasi experiment dan desain non-equivalent control group design yaitu dengan memberikan test yakni pretest dan postest pada 2 kelompok belajar dengan pokok bahasan volume bangun ruang kubus dan balok. Populasi penelitian ini ialah seluruh siswa SD kelas V di Kabupaten Purwakarta dan sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian yaitu 60 siswa dari 2 kelas pada salah satu sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Purwakarta. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu berupa tes dan non tes. Berdasarkan analisis data secara deskriptif dan inferensial, didapat hasil penelitian yakni adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep yang mendapat metode mathmagic terlihat dari hasil perhitungan rata-rata skor n-gain yaitu 0,7 ada pada kategori tinggi. Selain itu hasil analisis regresi sederhana diperoleh bahwa adanya pengaruh dari penerapan metode mathmagic pada kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yakni 29,5% berarti bahwa ada faktor lain yang mempengaruhi. ----- Learning is said to be effective if students master and understand the concept of the material that has been obtained. The background of this research is due to the low ability of elementary students to understand mathematical concepts. The objectives of this study are: 1) To know the improvement of students' mathematical concept understanding ability who received the application of the mathmagic method. 2) Knowing the effect of the mathmagic method on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental design and a non-equivalent control group design, namely by giving a test, namely pretest and posttest to 2 study groups with the subject of volume building cubes and blocks. The population of this study were all fifth grade elementary school students in Purwakarta Regency and the sample used in this study was 60 students from 2 classes in one of the elementary schools in Purwakarta Regency. The instruments used in this study are in the form of tests and non-tests. Based on descriptive and inferential data analysis, the research results obtained that there was an increase in understanding of concepts that received the mathmagic method as seen from the results of the calculation of the average n-gain score of 0.7 in the high category. In addition, the results of simple regression analysis showed that the influence of the application of the mathmagic method on the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts, which was 29.5%, meant that there were other influencing factors.
