Description
Summary:This study aims to develop a test of high school students' critical thinking skills on acid-base material using a valid and reliable Danczak-Overton-Thompson (DOT) test framework. The DOT critical thinking skills test is a test of critical thinking skills in the context of chemistry. The research method used in this study is the development and validation of Adams & Wieman (2010). This research consists of two stages of research, namely the development and validation stages. The development stage includes analysis of the Danczak-Overton-Thompson (DOT) critical thinking skills test framework, analysis of critical thinking skills on acid- base material, and the preparation of test grids. The development stage produces a test draft that is ready to be validated. The validation stage includes a content validity test by involving experts and then obtaining CVR and CVI scores, then field trials are carried out on 90 high school students in class XI and the results are used for test reliability tests and test item analysis tests. The developed test consists of 30 multiple-choice questions that refer to the DOT critical thinking skills indicator which includes making assumptions, developing hypotheses, testing hypotheses, analyzing arguments and drawing conclusions and referring to the DOT test model consisting of statements, questions and answer choices. The results of the content validity test resulted in a calculated CVI value of 0.83, the reliability test resulted in Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.851 with a good category. Based on the results of the analysis of the developed test items, it was found that the level of difficulty was in the easy and medium categories and the distinguishing power was in the good category.
