The study used a qualitative research and descriptive method. The data were analyzed by using feminist literary criticism. The data are in the form of textual evidence from the two novels which describe women characters. The analyzed data were focused on the women characters in both novels. The findings revealed that main women characters were represented as being smart, educated, beautiful strong and independent. They lived in their own belief that they can choose their own life and women's life should not be restricted at home. They live differently from the tradition in their society. Five outof six supporting women characters were represented as traditional women who dedicated all of their life to their husband, children and household. They were portrayed powerless, dependent and inferior. Meanwhile, only one supporting character who wasrepresented similar to main women characters. This result of the study is expected to give a contribution in teaching literature. Some aspects in the novels which have not been analyzed in the present study can be further investigated using post colonialism literary theory considering the setting of the two novels which happened incolonialism periods.
