Beragam jenis flora yang tumbuh di Indonesia, salah satunya adalah bunga rafflesia arnoldi. Tumbuhan tersebut merupakan salah satu bunga terbesar di dunia dan pertama kali ditemukan di Indonesia. Rafflesia arnoldi hanya terdiri dari mahkota bunga saja, tidak memiliki akar, batang, dan daun. Karena merupakan tumbuhan parasit yang menempel pada akar pohon inangnya. Sehingga untuk memenuhi makanannya Rafflesia arnoldi menyerap dari jaringan inangnya. Oleh itu bunga ini tidak dapat bertahan lama apabila tumbuhan inangnya mati. Rafflesia arnoldi merupakan salah satu tumbuhan langka yang hampir punah. Hal tersebut membuat penulis tertarik menjadikan bunga Rafflesia arnoldi sebagai objek utama seni lukis, keunikan tumbuhan tersebut dan kelangkaannya yang perlu dijaga. Yang bertujuan untuk melestarikan melalui apresiasi karya seni. Metode penciptaan yang penulis gunakan yaitu seni lukis. Media yang digunakan yaitu cat akrilik di atas kanvas. pengembangan ide dalam penciptaan visual karya seni lukis ini, diciptakan sebanyak empat buah karya yang menggambarkan bunga Rafflesia arnoldi dengan sudut pandang yang berbeda beda, dengan background yang menginterpretasikan hutan tropis, keempat karya ini dominan lebih pop art. Various types of flora that grow in Indonesia, one of which is the Rafflesia arnoldi flower. This plant is one of the largest flowers in the world and was first discovered in Indonesia. Rafflesia arnoldi only consists of a flower crown, does not have roots, stems, and leaves. Because it is a parasitic plant that attaches to the roots of the host tree. So that to fulfill its food, Rafflesia arnoldi absorbs from its host tissue. Therefore this flower cannot last long if the host plant dies. Rafflesia arnoldi is one of the rare plants that is almost extinct. This makes the writer interested in making the Rafflesia arnoldi flower the main object of painting, the uniqueness of the plant and its rarity that needs to be maintained. Which aims to preserve through the appreciation of works of art. The method of creation that the author uses is painting. The media used is acrylic paint on canvas. The development of ideas in the visual creation of this painting, four works depicting the Rafflesia arnoldi flower were created with different perspectives, with a background that interprets tropical forests, these four works are predominantly pop art.
