520 |a Laili Rahmawati, (2022) Effectiveness of STEM Approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, And Mathematics) on Creative Thinking Ability and Mathematical Critical Thinking Ability: Meta-Analysis Study Research related to the effect of the STEM approach on creative thinking skills and critical thinking skills in mathematics learning is increasingly interesting to study. This is because STEM as an approach in learning that is in accordance with the demands of innovative learning. This study aims to determine, estimate and test the effectiveness of the STEM approach on creative thinking skills and mathematical critical thinking skills from relevant individual studies. The study analyzed 21 primary studies from various electronic search engines. All primary studies involved in this study were analyzed using the meta-analysis method. The results of this meta-analysis show that the STEM approach is effective on students' mathematical creative thinking skills with an effect size of 0.935 in the category of large influence. There is a difference in the effect size of the STEM approach on students' mathematical creative thinking skills in terms of the integration of STEM with learning models and levels of education. This means that the type of integration of the STEM approach with learning models and levels of education significantly causes heterogeneity of students' mathematical creative thinking abilities. The STEM approach is effective on students' mathematical critical thinking skills with an effect size of 1,074 in the category of very large influence. There are differences in the effect size of the STEM approach on students' mathematical critical thinking skills in terms of integration with learning models, education levels, sample size and year of publication. This means that the integration of STEM with the learning model, level of education, sample size and years of research significantly causes heterogeneity of students' mathematical critical thinking abilities.
