520 |a ABSTRACT Body image is the person's perceptions, thoughts, and feelings toward his body. Students with a positive body image show good acceptance of their body condition. On the contrary, students with a negative body image show a sense of dissatisfaction with their body condition, always feel lacking in terms of appearance and like to compare themselves with others. This study aims to analyze and test the effectiveness of group guidance to improve the positive body image of students at SMA Negeri 62 Jakarta for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design of the Non Equivalent Pretest-Postest Control Group. The partisipans of this research was the 11th grade students of SMA in Jakarta. Sampling was done by using a purposive sampling techniques. Data collection uses body image instruments that have been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed with non-parametric statistics of the Mann Whitney U Test. The results of this studi indicate that group guidance was effective in improving the positive body image of students (Sig.( 2 tailed)=0.00, p<0.05). This research can be useful for counselors and future researchers who have an interest in interested in improving the student's body image. .
