Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh metode pembelajaran picture and picture terhadap kemampuan peserta didik dalam memahami konsep pada pembelajaran IPS di SMP Negeri 3 Lembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian quasi experimental design dengan menggunakan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian menggunakan dua kelas yaitu: kelas VII-G sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran picture and picture melalui google meet dan kelas VII-H sebagai kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan media modul melalui google classroom. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Rata-rata pengukuran setelah diberikan perlakuan pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 90.91 dan setelah diberikan perlakuan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 64.47 terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan sebesar 26.44. N-Gain kemampuan peserta didik dalam memahami konsep pada kelas eksperimen adalah sebesar 78% dengan kategori efektif sedangkan pada kelas kontrol kemampuan peserta didik dalam memahami konsep adalah sebesar 4% dengan kategori tidak efektif. Dari hasil uji-t data menunjukan bahwa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan nilai sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, artinya Ho ditolak berarti terdapat perbedaan kemampuan peserta didik kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran picture and picture dengan kemampuan peserta didik kelas kontrol tanpa menggunakan metode pembelajaran picture and picture dalam memahami konsep pada pembelajaran IPS. This study aims to examine the effect of the picture and picture learning method on the ability of students to understand concepts in social studies learning at SMP Negeri 3 Lembang. This study used a quasi-experimental design research method using a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample used two classes, namely: class VII-G as an experimental class using the picture and picture learning method through google meet and class VII-H as a control class using a media module through google classroom. The results showed that the average measurement after being given treatment in the experimental class was 90.91 and after being given treatment to the control class was 64.47, there was a significant difference of 26.44. N-Gain the ability of students to understand concepts in the experimental class is 78% in the effective category, while in the control class the ability of students to understand concepts is 4% in the ineffective category. From the results of the t-test data shows that the experimental class and control class with a value of sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that Ho is rejected, which means that there is a difference in the ability of the experimental class students using the picture and picture learning method with the control class students' abilities without using the picture and picture learning method in understanding the concept of social studies learning.
