Keluarga menjadi orang yang paling dekat dengan penderita demensia, sehingga keluarga akan menjaga dan berperan sebagai caregiver bagi penderita demensia. Merawat penderita demensia seringkali menimbulkan stres dan mengakibatkan tekanan fisik dan psikologis. Strategi koping memiliki peran mediasi dalam dampak stres terkait perawatan Tujuan penelitian untuk mengidentifikasi beban, reaksi, dan koping family caregiver dalam merawat lanjut usia dengan demensia. Desain penelitian menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan strategi penelitian studi kasus pre test dan post test. Jumlah subjek penelitian dua orang family caregiver yang merawat lanjut usia dengan demensia ringan-sedang. Instrumen menggunakan Revised Memory and Behavior Problems Checklist, Revised Ways of Coping Checklist (WCCL-R) dan Caregiver Burden Inventory (CBI) versi Cina. Metode intervensi strategi koping dilakukan 6 kali dalam 2 minggu. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya penurunan beban dan penurunan reaksi mengganggu perilaku pasien demensia bagi family caregiver serta peningkatan koping pada family caregiver. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan, strategi koping mampu menurunkan beban dan reaksi family caregiver pada masalah memori dan perilaku serta peningkatan koping family caregiver. Peneliti menyarankan kepada peneliti selanjutnya untuk menggunakan metode sesuai jurnal rujukan. kata kunci : demensia, family caregiver, strategi koping ABSTRACT CASE STUDY: MANAGEMENT OF COPING STRATEGIES IN FAMILY CAREGIVER THAT CARE FOR THE ELDERLY WITH DEMENTIA Khoerunisa Amalia NIM 190935 Dementia describes a disorder characterized by cognitive decline involving memory and at least one other domain. The Family is the closest person to the person with dementia, so that the Family will take care and act as a caregiver for people with dementia. Caring for the patient is often stressful and results in physical and psychological stress. Coping strategies have a mediating role in the impact of stress-related care goals to identify the burden, reactions, and coping of Family caregivers in caring for aged people with dementia. The research design uses qualitative research with a pre-test and post-test case study research strategy. The number of research subjects was two Family caregivers who cared for those aged with mild-moderate dementia. The instrument uses the Revised Memory and Behavior Problems Checklist, Revised Ways of Coping Checklist (WCCL-R) and the Chinese version of the Caregiver Burden Inventory (CBI). Coping strategy intervention methods were carried out 6 times in 2 weeks. The results showed a decrease in the burden and behavioral disorders of dementia patients for Family caregivers and an increase in coping with Family caregivers. So that it can be said, coping strategies are able to reduce the burden and reactions of Family caregivers on memory and behavior problems and increase Family caregivers' coping.
