ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan judul "Profil Model Mental Siswa pada Materi Redoks dengan Menggunakan Tes Diagnostik Model Mental Pilihan Ganda Dua Tingkat". Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran profil model mental siswa pada materi redoks dengan menggunakan instrumen tes diagnostik pilihan ganda dua tingkat. Penelitian dilakukan pada 57 siswa MIPA di salah satu SMA Negeri di Cianjur. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Model mental dikelompokkan menjadi empat tipe, yaitu model mental tipe 11 dengan karakteristik dapat memahami tiga level representasi, tipe 01 dengan karakteristik cenderung memahami konsep tingkat submikroskopik dan simbolik, tipe 10 dengan karakteristik cenderung memahami konsep tingkat makroskopik dan simbolik, dan tipe 00 dengan karakteristik tidak memahami tiga level representasi. Hasil penelitian pada konsep reaksi reduksi dan oksidasi berdasarkan konsep pengikatan dan pelepasan elektron, konsep reaksi reduksi dan oksidasi berdasarkan konsep kenaikan dan penurunan biloks dan pada konsep penentuan zat yang berperan sebagai reduktor dan zat yang berperan sebagai oksidator berdasarkan pelepasan dan penerimaan elektron didominasi oleh tipe 00. This research was conducted with the title "Profile of Student Mental Model on Redox Material Using Two-Level Multiple Choice Mental Model Diagnostic Test". This study aims to obtain a profile picture of students' mental models on redox material using a two-level multiple choice diagnostic test instrument. The study was conducted on 57 Mathematics and Natural Sciences students in one of the State Senior High Schools in Cianjur. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Mental models are grouped into four types, namely type 11 mental models with the characteristics of being able to understand three levels of representation, type 01 with characteristics tending to understand submicroscopic and symbolic level concepts, type 10 with characteristics tending to understand macroscopic and symbolic level concepts, and type 00 with no characteristics. understand the three levels of representation.
