It aims to discover how bullying incidents are represented visually and verbally in picture books and what the representation signifies. The study is descriptive qualitative study, and has employed Kress and van Leeuwen's Reading Images (2006) and Halliday's Functional Grammar (1994) to analyze the data in form of verbal text. The study finds that verbal texts are slightly more dominant in constructing bullying incidents than visual images. However, both of the modes play important role to construct the representation of bullying incidents. The study finds that bullying incidents are verbally represented through material and verbal process. Visually, bullying incidents are mostly represented through reactional process, offer gaze and left-right layout. It means that bullying incidents are shown as the discrimination in peers as what most picture books narrated. From children's literature perspective, the result shows when children bully others, they will get punished as mostly in children's literature -- children who are doing bad action will get punished back from what he does.
