520 |a Mathematical reasoning ability and communication are two mathematical ability to be possessed by a junior high school students. But in reality the field is based on several research students do not have this capacity to the optimum. This is what underlies the implementation of this research. Therefore, this study aims to determine the increase in mathematical reasoning ability and communication between students receiving the learning of mathematics with a model reciprocal teaching (experimental class) and learning the conventional (control class), which examined both overall and by groups of early mathematical abilities of students. In addition it also revealed the interaction between learning with early mathematical ability groups of students. This type of quasi experimental study was purposive sampling with sampling the VII grade 72 students from two classes at one of the junior secondary level land in the City of Cianjur. The second class are given a pretest and postes. The hypothesis was tested through parametric test (t-test and ANOVA test Two Line) and non-parametric test (Mann-Whitney test). The results showed that (1) increase the ability of a class of mathematical reasoning and communication experiments is better than the control class, (2) there is interaction between the study groups early mathematical ability of students to the improvement of mathematical reasoning ability but there were no significant interactions of increased mathematical ability communication
