Summary:The teacher's way of teaching greatly influences students' learning interest, especially in Social Sciences (IPS) lessons. The learning method only focuses on the lecture method, the learning model used is not appropriate. This results in students feeling bored or bored in participating in learning so that it can cause a decrease in interest in learning. This study aims to apply the Problem Based Learning model to increase interest in social studies learning in Elementary Schools of SDN Cipocok Jaya 2. The methodology used by researchers in this study is a qualitative approach using Classroom Action Research (PTK) methods. The subjects used in this study were fifth grade students at SDN Cipocok Jaya 2 with 13 male students and 12 female students. The collection of data used by researchers is observation and tests. The observation results of the first cycle with a percentage of 72% and the second cycle experienced an increase of 86%. The data for the percentage value obtained from the pre-cycle test is 36% with the less category or has not yet reached the KKM. Cycle I increased to 80%, then cycle II increased again with a percentage of 96%.
