Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh maraknya berita hoaks yang menyebabkan rendahnya kesadaran etika komunikasi di media digital. Respons Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Barat atas permasalahan tersebut dengan dibentuknya unit kerja Jabar Saber Hoaks yang berada dibawah bidang Informasi dan Komunikasi Publik Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika Jawa Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui sejauh mana Jabar Saber Hoaks memberikan peran dalam menanamkan kesadaran etika komunikasi di media digital kepada masyarakat. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kantor Jabar Saber Hoaks yang bertempat di Gedung B/Gedung Sate, Jl. Diponegoro No.22, Citarum, Kec. Bandung Wetan, Kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa Jabar Saber Hoaks memiliki peran sebagai wadah untuk mengklarifikasi berita hoaks dan memberikan edukasi tentang kesadaran etika komunikasi di media digital melalui program-programnya. This research is motivated by the rise of hoax news which causes low awareness of communication ethics in digital media. The West Java Provincial Government's response to this problem was the establishment of the Jabar Saber Hoaks work unit which is under the Information and Public Comunications Office of The West Java Communication and Informatics Service. The purpose of this research is to find out to what extent West Java Saber Hoaks play a role in instilling awareness of the ethics of communication in digital media to the public. The research was carried out at the Jabar Saber Hoaks Office which is located at Gedung B/Gedung Sate, Jl. Diponegoro No.22, Citarum, Kec. Bandung Wetan, Bandung City. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results obtained from this study state that Jabar Saber Hoaks has a role as a forum for clarifying hoax news and providing education about awareness of communication ethics in digital media through its programs.
