Summary:This study discusses women in the Saxophone Learning Process in the Music Arts Study Program, Indonesian University of Education. Women have physical differences with men, especially in the process of learning the saxophone wind instrument. In learning the saxophone wind instrument, men dominate more. This dominance is related to identification and physical strength. So it is interesting to study when women choose the saxophone musical instrument as a specialization instrument. Purpose this study examines in depth the process of learning the saxophone by women. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to obtain all research data. This study found: 1) Women have physical limitations, 2) The dominance of men in saxophone courses causes women to feel inferior, 3) Women are able to compete with men, 4) Motivation is needed by women as a minority group in attending courses saxophone. The implication of this research is as a reference for women in choosing musical instrument specialties which tend to be dominated by men.
