Summary:Ambiguity in language can lead to understanding and / or misunderstanding. Misunderstandings can lead to riots. In addition, ambiguity can also lead to the value of humor that can make the reader feel funny and laugh amused. Like the ambiguity contained in the memes that spread on Twitter. The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe (1) the representation of meaning contained in ambiguous memes on the use of symbols, icons, and indexes; (2) the interpretation of the responders published in the comments column ambiguous memes. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis method with theoretical approach of Peirce semiotics. The Data used in this study are ambiguous memes in which there are visual and verbal signs that spread on Twitter in the July 2020-March 2023 period. In data collection, nonpartisan documentation and observation techniques are used. The results showed that there is a double representation of Meaning In Symbols in ambiguous memes, namely literal meaning and figurative meaning. Symbols that represent icons and indices are symbols that have a literal representation of meaning. This resulted in the value of humor perceived by the responders. In the discussion of interpretation, the dominant respondents agreed on the humor contained in ambiguous memes. That is, the responders understand and understand about the humor in the ambiguous meme that the creator/uploader wants to convey.
