Menonton film sudah menjadi media hiburan masyarakat, bahkan saat ini kita tidak harus pergi ke bioskop untuk bisa menonton. Salah satu alasan seseorang dalam memilih tontonan adalah dari pemilihan genrenya. Genre dalam film adalah kategori untuk mengelompokan suatu film berdasarkan tema, gaya dan elemen tertentu. Terdapat satu genre film yang terbilang baru di perfilman Indonesia, yaitu genre film Heist. Film Mencuri Raden Saleh adalah film Heist pertama di Indonesia dan mendapat respon positif dari penonton. Sedangkan pada perfilman Hollywood, genre ini sudah banyak diproduksi sejak tahun 1950. Ocean's Eleven adalah salah satu film Heist terkenal yang mempunyai 2 sequel. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persamaan dan perbedaan dari film Heist Indonesia dan Hollywood. Metode yang dipakai pada penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, sehingga data yang digunakan berdasar pada proses observasi, studi literatur dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori struktur tiga babak yang disempurnakan oleh Syn Field untuk membantu menganalisa teknik penceritaan dan pengembangan karakter setiap babaknya. Penelitian ini menemukan beberapa persamaan dan perbedaan dari kedua film yang diteliti. Diantaranya adalah jenis penceritaan Omniscient Narration dan adanya Plot Twist serta perbedaan tantangan pada tokoh utama. Pada film Heist yang diteliti, terdapat adanya satu elemen yang menjadi poin penting dalam inti ceritanya. Elemen tersebut adalah kontingensi, rencana cadangan yang disiapkan oleh tim pencuri supaya misi mereka berhasil. Watching movies has become a medium of entertainment for people, even today we don't have to go to the cinema to be able to watch movies. One of the reasons someone chooses to watch a movie is from the choice of genre. Genre in film is a category to group a film based on a certain theme, style and elements. There is one film genre that is fairly new in Indonesian cinema, namely the Heist film genre. The film Stealing Raden Saleh was the first Heist film in Indonesia and received a positive response from the audience. While in Hollywood films, this genre has been widely produced since 1950. Ocean's Eleven is one of the famous Heist films that has 2 sequels. The purpose of this study is to find out the similarities and differences between Indonesian and Hollywood Heist films. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach, so that the data used is based on the process of observation, literature study and documentation. This study uses the three-act structure theory refined by Syn Field to help analyze the storytelling techniques and character development of each act. This study found several similarities and differences from the two films studied. Among them are the type of story Omniscient Narration and the existence of Plot Twists and differences in the challenges of the main character. In the Heist film studied, there is one element that becomes an important point in the core of the story. These elements are contingency, backup plans prepared by a team of thieves to make their mission successful.
