This research is qualitative in nature framed within the textual analysis approach. It employs feminist literary criticism perspective including several theories from Showalter (1977) and Dirige (2003) to analyze the textual evidences from the novel Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm written by Deana McFadden. The result shows that the concept of an idealized woman can be classified in to the features such as: behavior, attitude, physical appearance, and skills. Finally, the research reveals that the construction of idealized woman is influenced by the culture of people around the main female child character.
