520 |a The aims of this study are to find out the increases of science process skills and creative thinking skills of high school students in 11th grade, and also to know the comprehension of students concepts on learning salt hydrolysis through the implementation of problem based laboratory acitivities. A quasi experimental method was used with one-group pretest-posttest design in this study. The subjects were students of 11th grade for about 40 students in second semester. This study used a tests, questionnaires, and interview guides as an instruments. Based on the results, revealed that the problem based laboratory activities on salt hydrolysis may improve students' science process skills and creative thinking skills. Science process skills of students obtained the highest in the aspect of 'planning an experiment'. Creative thinking skills of students on the 'evaluation skills' gained the highest rate. The highest N-gain in student's comprehension increase was found in the concept of 'chemical equation of salt hydrolysis'. Significance test indicates that the problem based laboratory activities on salt hydrolysis concept has a significant impact on student learning outcomes. In addition, based on the responses of students and teachers as well as the analysis showed that problem based laboratory activities is positively responsed by students and make students enthusiastic in studying the salt hydrolysis.
