| Summary: | This study aims to determine whether Tokopedia is responsible for the leakage of Tokopedia users' personal data. The law on personal data protection has yet to be specifically regulated, even though the need for personal data regulation is very crucial. Facts in the field show that there are still many cases related to leaks of personal data that occur, for example the case of personal data leaks of Tokopedi users. Personal data of Tokopedia users were hacked in May 2020, 91 million Tokopedia user accounts were successfully hacked by hackers with the nickname whysodank. The research method used is a juridical normative research method with a statutory approach. The results of this study indicate that Tokopedia is responsible for the leakage of its users' personal data because it does not operate an electronic system reliably, safely and responsibly. |
