One of the reasons of insufficient breastfeeding is the lack of milk production, so that various non pharmalogical interventions are needed to increase breast milk production. The aim of this study is to determine and assess the effectiveness non pharmacological interventions to increase breast milk production. This study uses the Literature Review method. Search data through online databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and Sciencedirect with the inclusion criteria, namely English-language articles, publication year 2016-2021, indexed by Sinta, full-text available with a focus in finding non-pharmacological interventions to increase milk production and ejection. The results obtained 5,518 articles. After screening according to keywords and the focus of the search, 14 articles were analyzed. The results of the literature review obtained non-pharmacological interventions to increase milk production and ejection, namely the consumption of herbal lactagogue, massage therapy, acupressure therapy, lactapuncture therapy, music therapy, and warm compress therapy. The articles that have been analyzed show the effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions in increasing milk production and ejection because they can stimulate the hormones oxytocin and prolactin which play a role in the breastfeeding process. This study shows non-pharmacological interventions are proven to increase milk production and ejection.
