Dental caries is a condition where the teeth have plaque buildup that causes changes in the color and shape of the teeth. In order to the incidence of dental caries in children does not get worse, the role of the mother is needed in maintaining the condition of the child's teeth, as well as the efforts made. TK Lestari is one of the kindergartens in Depok, and according to the dental examination report for 2017-2018, 56 out of 85 students experienced dental caries. TK Lestari itself has routinely held dental check-ups, but after the pandemic the activity was temporarily suspended. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of mothers in maintaining dental hygiene with the incidence of dental caries in preschool children at TK Lestari in 2021. The research design for this research is descriptive qualitative, with in-depth interviews with 22 informants selected through purposive sampling. The research was held in TK Lestari. The results showed that the role of mothers in maintaining dental hygiene with the incidence of dental caries in preschool children in the form of guiding, reminding, providing understanding and being able to provide facilities for children to brush their teeth. The obstacles experienced by mothers in maintaining the cleanliness of their children's teeth are dealing with children's behavior. It is recommended for mothers to be more assertive in bringing order to their children when maintaining dental hygiene.
