| 520 | |a This research focuses on the role of UNHCR (United Nation High Commissioner For Refugees) in handling with refugees in DKI Jakarta in 2016 - 2020. The issue of refugees has become a global issue and is at the same time worrying due to the ongoing conflict resulting in the increasing number of refugees around the world. DKI Jakarta as the capital city is a target for refugees because the headquarters of the UNHCR office located in Jakarta and become the shelters for individuals such as refugees. The number of refugees in Jakarta makes it difficult for local governments and other government agencies to deal with them. UNHCR in responding to this case acts as an international organization whose mission and goals are to protect refugees and provide them with human rights like other individuals. UNHCR indirectly helping government to find problem solve in this issue. This study uses the role theory of inter-government organization (IGO) based on Clive J. Archer. Supporting the role theory, it can be concluded that research on the role of UNHCR can be considered as an instrument, arena, and independent actor in dealing with refugees in Jakarta. | ||
