| Summary: | Smoking behaviour is a burning cigarette activity that can cause some health issues to the smoker themselves or even to the people around them. Survey stated that the smoking prevalence in Indonesia is 62,9% for the man and 4,8% for the women. Smoking behaviour could cause some cancer such as mouth cancer, esophagus, larynx, pharynx, pancreas, lungs, and bladder. Besides that, smoking behaviour could cause chronic obstructive pulmonary and blood vessel disease.The purpose of this study was to analyse the level of knowledge and attitude towards smoking behaviour on employees at Management and Engineering Divison at Cinere Mall. This research used quantitative analytic method with cross sectional study design. The population of this study was 44 workers. The sample of this study was also 44 workers by using the total sampling technique. Chi Square test results obtained p-value for age and smoking behaviour = 0,236; p-value for education level and smoking behaviour = 0,038; p-value for income and smoking behaviour = 0,081; p-value for working time and smoking behaviour = 0,143; p-value for knowledge and smoking behaviour = 0,005; p-value for attitude and smoking behaviour = 0,014. The conclusion was there was a correlation between age, education level, income, knowledge, and attitude towards smoking behaviour. The workers were advised to increase the level of awareness of smoking to create a smoke-free work environment. |
