| Summary: | The research examines about Ahmadiyah issue during 2020 was reported on online media Kompas.com and Tempo.co. The research was based on the idea because of Ahmadiyah organization-since its appearance oftentimes caused controversy in Indonesia. This is because the theological Ahmadiyah teachings are considered heretical teachings by the government and the Muslim community. The role of the media is very important in framing the Ahmadiyah organization. Because the media has a responsibility for providing objective news. Meanwhile, the impact of the Ahmadiyah framing has a big influence on the reader's opinion. Through the news reported by Kompas.com and Tempo.co. As the readers, the citizens have their own view about Ahmadiyah organization. If the reader looks through a broad frame, the resulting opinion will have many points of view. On the other hand, if the readers perceive it with smaller frame, the opinions generated only come from one point of view. This study uses a qualitative approach and the Robert N. Entman framing analysis method. The Robert N. Entman method analyzes the framing used by the media using four analytical tools. Social construction of mass media is used as the main theory of this research. According to the social construction of mass media, in the wide and fast circulation of information, public opinion appears formed from the constructed reality. The purpose of this study is to determine the framing used by Kompas.com and Tempo.co for Ahmadiyah. |
