| Summary: | This research aims to understand the implementation of Women, Peace and Security Agenda by Indonesia to improve women's participation on UN peace operation under the reign of Joko Widodo and the impact of the Agenda to Indonesia. WPS Agenda was formed by the struggle of women in uphold women's rights, the elimination of discrimination against women, call for addressing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in conflict and post-conflict, and improving women's participation in security and peace. Agenda WPS is constantly being developed through the adoption of resolution by the United Nations Security Council, the UNSC Resolution 1325 is the landmark resolution and the first time that UNSC adopted a resolution which fully discussed about the disproportional impact of conlict for women and acknowledging the critical role of women in peacebuilding. This research uses the methodology of qualitative research with descriptive analysis research type on describing the facts that were found during the research. The data were collected by conducting interviews as primary data and literature study as secondary data. This research shows that Indonesia is highly commited and serious in the implementasi of WPS Agenda but there are obstacles which hinder the optimalization of the implementation. The impact of the implementation of WPS Agenda for Indonesia is the formation of Indonesia's good image in international society, improve and enhance Indonesian women's participation on the prevention, resolution, relief and recovery of conflict, also build a prosperous community of women. |
