Narcotics are divided into three groups. Psychotropic consists of four groups. While the addictive substances include alcohol, nicotine, and caffeine. Every substance that is part of the drug has harmful effects for its users either directly or indirectly. In addition, not only has an impact on physical health, but can also affect mental health. NAPZA abuse can be prevented by various ways, namely through information programs, educational programs, meaningful programming options, self-introduction programs and early interventions, as well as psychosocial skills programs. Keywords: Drugs, Narcotics, Psychotropics, Addictive Substances ABSTRAK Salah satu persoalan besar yang tengah dihadapi bangsa Indonesia adalah maraknya penyalahgunaan NAPZA, terutama yang terjadi dikalangan remaja. NAPZA (Narkotika, Psikotropika, dan Zat Adiktif lain) adalah bahan/zat/obat yang bila masuk ke dalam tubuh manusiaakan mempengaruhi tubuh terutama otak/susunan saraf pusat sehingga menyebabkan gangguan kesehatan fisik, psikis, dan fungsi sosial karena terjadi kebiasaan, ketagihan (adiksi) serta ketergantungan (dependensi) terhadap NAPZA. Narkotika terdiri dari tiga golongan. Psikotropika terdiri dari empat golongan. Sedangkanyang termasuk zat adiktif adalah alkohol, nikotin, dan kafein. Setiap bahan/obat/zat yang merupakan bagian dari NAPZA mempunyai dampak-dampak yang membahayakan bagi penggunanya baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Selain itu, tidak hanya berdampak pada kesehatan fisik, namun juga dapat mempengaruhi kesehatan mental. Penyalahgunaan NAPZA dapat dicegah dengan berbagai cara, yaitu melalui program informasi, program pendidikan, program penyediaan pilihan yang bermakna, program pengenalandiri dan intervensi dini, serta program keterampilan psikososial.
