Summary

The development in the modern era in the automotive sector is to produce vehicles that have great power and high efficiency and reduce high exhaust emissions. For this reason, a component that can solve the problem is added by attaching a turbocharger to the vehicle's engine. This research was conducted to analyze the changes given by the turbocharger to the working performance of the diesel engine and to determine the fuel consumption. This research was carried out using a comparison method on the engine performance parameters of the vehicle. To determine engine performance, it can be seen from several parameters, including torque, shaft power, indicators, pressure, fuel consumption, as well as thermal and mechanical efficiency. Based on the research conducted, it is proven that the installation of a turbocharger can add power to a vehicle and can reduce fuel consumption in the vehicle.
