| 520 | |a The phenomenon of divorce is not new and will be one of the phenomena that impossible to stop. The most difficult part in divorce for couple who have children is the fights that occur in front of the children. This study aims to find out the level of self-disclosure the broken home family background to partner before marriage based on self-disclosure theory and social penetration. The research method is qualitative with phenomenology approach. The data is collecting through in-depth interview and the informants are selected purposively. The data obtained will be analyzed using the Creswell phenomenology analytic tools. The results showed that the experience of a broken home family can only be expressed at the fourth level of self-disclosure which is feelings level and at affective stage based on social penetration. The biggest barrier to do self-disclosure is fear while the impulse is the seriousness that they put in a relationship so they don't want to covered up anything and free their selves from fear. The impact of self-disclosure is the depth of relationship to the stable stage. The response from the family of broken home's partner is they are more concerned with the personality and behavior of the prospective son-in-law/daughter-in-law rather than the family background. The woman with broken home family takes longer than a man in telling the background of a broken family. | ||
