Indonesia has limitations in dealing with cases of deforestation so that Indonesia needs other parties, including the society, the private sector, NGOs and bilateral support with other countries. Therefore, Indonesia received assistance from South Korea to help overcome the case of deforestation in Indonesia. Indonesia is South Korea's most important cooperation partner in the forestry sector, this can be proven by South Korea's investment of 167,000 hectares (ha) of plantation forests in Indonesia, where the amount of forest investment is one of the largest South Korean investments among nine other countries. This study uses the theory of national interest, and the theory of foreign aid and uses descriptive qualitative research methods to examine the title of the author's research. This study aims to describe the use of South Korean Foreign Aid by Indonesia in dealing with deforestation by explaining what forms of aid are and what forms of assistance from South Korea are used by Indonesia for the period 2012-2020. Where in this period, Indonesia use the South Korea's foreign aid by making several project such as Sentul Eco Forest, Rumpin Seed Source, dan Tunak Eco Tourism. The results of these projects are certainly on target to reduce the effects of deforestation in Indonesia. Such as the development of land and forest rehabilitation technology by exchanging knowledge in the fields of seeds and nurseries, environmentally oriented forest resource management, eco-tourism-based education and tourism as well as peatland restoration and conservation.
