| Summary: | The development of internet technology is increasingly visible so that the birth of social media. The existence of social media increases self-disclosure behavior on social media, especially on Instagram. The increase in self-disclosure behavior on social media Instagram can be seen through a survey from Hootsuite that Instagram is the third most used social media in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the form of self-disclosure that occurs and the reasons for self-disclosure on social media Instagram. This study uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach to social media users Instagram who have used Instagram for more than one year. The informants of this research were six people who were selected based on predetermined criteria. This study uses the theory of Self Disclosure. This study uses data collection techniques in-depth interviews, observations, and literature study in descriptive form. The results of this study were found that the informants did self-disclosure on Instagram. This study found several reasons for self-disclosure on social media Instagram, including self-appreciation, personal branding, wanting to share personal information, wanting to be more intimate, and wanting to get a solution. The form of self-disclosure that is carried out on social media Instagram is to share the daily activities that are being carried out and pour out their hearts. |
