Summary:With the start of the industrial revolution in the 18th century, it was marked by the emergence of factories, power plants, vehicles and transportation. Two hundred years later, new industrialized countries emerged, both in Europe, America and even in Asia. Industry does make the face of the world look more advanced, for example with motorized vehicles as one of the industrial products. But on the other hand the industrial revolution also has a negative impact on the environment on earth. First, the engine uses fuel from deep within the earth. The results of the combustion also produce substances that are harmful and cause a greenhouse effect. As a result, the earth feels hotter than usual which is referred to as global warming. This study aims to determine the dynamics and benefits of cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea in the automotive sector in the development of environmentally friendly cars, especially electric cars. The method used in compiling this paper is qualitative. The author uses secondary data sources collected from books, articles, and also related official websites. The theory used by the author is bilateral cooperation and foreign direct investment. This study shows the results that automotive cooperation between the two countries began in 1996. Then South Korea through the Hyundai Motor Company decided to build a special electric car factory in the Karawang area, West Java in 2020. The automotive company built a factory in Indonesia with the aim of increasing cooperation with the aim of protecting the environment from pollution and emissions produced by conventional gasoline and diesel cars.
